Charles Barkley always gets roasted by his colleagues at Inside the NBA on TNT. Mostly it is his co-panelists, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith. But today, host Ernie Johnson roasted Barkley as soon as he got the chance while watching game highlights. The roast was when Barkley least expected it. The roast caused the whole panel to lose it on national television.

The crew of Inside the NBA was watching the highlights of the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets. On a play, Austin Reaves lost track of Michael Porter Jr. standing all alone. Porter Jr. makes the easy three prompting Barkley to ask what Reaves was thinking leaving Porter Jr. alone. To this, Johnson replied:

With the panel recovering from Johnson’s quick wit, Barkley replied:

Barkley repeated the statement asking Johnson to not give caution to the wind as Barkley is scheduled to travel to Las Vegas tomorrow.

Charles Barkley is going to Las Vegas, most probably to watch the NFL Super Bowl live. But as per his history with Las Vegas, Barkley will also be hitting the casinos which Vegas is famous for. Johnson pulling a quick joke to roast Barkley and his gambling habits was perfect timing.

The show ended with Kenny Smith hosting a poker competition between O’Neal and Charles Barkley. In the ensuing card draw, Shaquille O’Neal drew a royal flush to beat Barkley full house. That compounded the earlier roast.

Charles Barkley has a history of gambling. He has earned a lot of money during his playing career as well as a broadcaster. However, he has lost a lot of it by gambling. There were reports that Barkley lost $1 million bets 10-20 times. That is a lot of money to lose for any person.

Barkley has gone and fixed his mentality while gambling. He mentioned in the past that after he shifted how he approaches a round of poker or blackjack, he has lost less. But, the allure of Vegas will definitely not stop Barkley from trying his hands on some bets.

Ernie Johnson knowing Barkley’s history of gambling slid in the quirky troll right on the money. After all, poking fun at the NBA Hall of Famer is satisfying to everyone.
