NBA legend Charles Barkley, a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and a Sunday like no other. His plan? Simple. He’s dedicating his entire day’s meals to these doughnuts. There’s a high chance that Barkley will savor the sweet treats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Chuck’s got a thing for Krispy Kreme, and who can blame him? Every time he sees the bright neon sign glowing on that place, he can’t help but veer his car towards it. Clearly, Barkley can’t resist the pull of those fresh, warm doughnuts. The NBA legend might have actually found a new love after basketball and sports commentary.
Charles Barkley got candid on TNT about his doughnut diet:
One Sunday morning I said "I just want some Krispy Kreme!" so I ordered a dozen and I said "Imma break it up into three meals." That's all I eat that whole day... It was a great meal day. I am proud of that. I could have ate them all in one sitting.
Turns out this was actually quite healthy by Charles’ standards. Barkley’s proud of his ‘doughnut discipline’. Sure, he could’ve devoured all 12 in a flash, but he chose the path of sugary moderation. He goes on to claim he “could have ate them all in one sitting”, which is then confirmed by eyewitness and co-host Ernie Johnson.
Dieting and Charles Barkley – it’s a mix that’s always ripe for laughs. The doughnut episode is just another chapter in his book of hilarious diet adventures. It’s this light-hearted and relatable approach to life of his that endears him to fans.
Chuck fails Diet Coke detox resolution for 2024 in barely two weeks
As 2024 dawned, Charles Barkley set a New Year’s resolution that had everyone talking: kicking his intense Diet Coke habit. Known for his astonishing consumption – sometimes up to 20 cans a day – Barkley’s resolution was met with a mix of skepticism and playful ribbing by his fellow co-hosts. Moments later, his co-hosts found some Coke in his cup, sparking a round of good-natured jesting.

Barkley feigned withdrawal symptoms right after his co-host Kenny Smith threw away his Coke. Grasping a bottle of water, he exaggerated every sip, theatrically missing the familiar fizz and flavor of his beloved soda. Charles’ mock complaint, “This stuff [water] doesn’t taste like anything,” had everyone in splits.
The situation escalated into an even funnier spectacle when Shaquille O’Neal, seizing the moment, revealed several cans of Diet Coke hidden at Barkley’s side of the set. As Shaq distributed the cans to their fellow co-hosts, they all savored each sip with exaggerated delight, clinking cans and mockingly toasting the new year.
As expected, Barkley later confessed the resolution’s failure. In a candid exchange with host Ernie Johnson, he admitted,
I think I'm a miserable failure on the Diet Coke situation.
When probed about lasting even a day without it, Barkley, with his infectious laughter, confessed, he hasn’t gone a day without one.
