Golden State Warriors won their 4th overall Championship in last 8 years, and are now ranked 2nd in the all-time total Championships won list. Astonishingly they won their last 4 titles in the span of 8 seasons. While players deserve credit for this amazing feat, it’s their back-office who is also working hard to assemble the perfect team every season for the championship run. Former NBA megastar Charles Barkley recognizing the efforts claims that their GM Bob Myers should be given credit for his work. There has been no love lost between the Golden State Warriors fan base and Charles Barkley.

The Claims made by Hall Of Fame players are certainly very true and even the most die-hard Warriors fan can agree with them. During an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area, Barkley gave an abundance of credit for Golden State’s success to Bob Myers. He even said he’s one of the greatest things to ever happen to the franchise that’s turned dynastic under his leadership. Barkley was at the American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe Gold Course.

Golden State Warriors struggled in the past. After winning the 1975 Championship, the franchise experienced a mid-table struggle and failed to make it to any of the conference finals for a larger period. But things were about to change, as the team drafted one of the deadliest shooters in the history of the NBA in 2009. But things got better when the franchise hired former NBA agent Bob Myers to lead their front office. Bob Myers joined the Warriors in 2011 and since then the team only saw progress in their standings, finally winning their first championship in 2015.

And when they ended their 4 decades wait for the NBA Championship, the team never looked back. Golden State Warriors dominated the league from 2015 to the next 8 seasons, setting a record for most wins in the regular season. They also made it to 6 NBA finals in those 8 seasons, winning 4 of them for the franchise.

Crediting GM Bob Myers for the massive difference made at the franchise, Charles Barley said, “Bob Myers has done a fabulous job. He won the Finals for those guys this year, going out and getting Andrew Wiggins. He was the second-best player. Jordan Poole. Otto Porter.”

While recognizing the Warriors as NBA Champions is undeniable, actually giving credit to the Warriors organization is somewhat uncharted territory for Barkley. At the beginning of the 2022 conference finals former MVP Barkley picked the young and dynamic Dallas Mavericks over Golden State in any of the five games.

But Barkley finally seems to have changed his tune. And he praised the actual players and foundation of the franchise that’s nearly created the dynasty. “So, Bob Myers was the second-best thing to happen to the Warriors since Steph Curry the last few years,” Barkley added“So, give Bob Myers some credit. And, obviously, Otto Porter played great. Drafting Jordan Poole. You talk about Steph and those guys; give Bob Myers a ton of credit. He deserves it.”

NBA also has recognized work done by Myers, as he won NBA executive of the year in 2015 and 2017. The team looks solid under the new culture formed. With new players and old stars gelling well, the Warriors might even win more titles in coming seasons.
