Charles Barkley Talks about the Boston Celtics Fans' behavior

Charles Barkley laughed at the Golden State Warriors players who objected to the Celtics Fans’ antics and chants in Game 3 at TD Garden. The former Phoenix Suns MVP and current NBA on TNT host reminded them about the Warriors fans taunts launched against him, outside the Chase Center and asked Steve Kerr’ men to be strong as they face the wrath of opposition fans.

Golden State Warriors played their 1st NBA Finals game at TD Garden and it was not a very welcoming sign for them. Though fans provoked and booed visiting marquee players, the chants and personal comments were over the limit, as per GSW players. The main target for the whole TD Garden was Draymond Green. Even family members of some Warriors’ players got involved and asked for some decency in support or opposition. With these events and talking going around, former NBA legend Charles Barkley supported the behavior of the fans and called Golden State Warriors “Weak”.

After the game, multiple Golden State players opened up on the antics of the Boston crowd and expressed their concerns. But Charles Barkley, who experienced the same treatment in his playing days and even now as an analyst shrugged off the claims and asked players to be strong-minded. He gave a recent example of Warriors fans targeting him during a TV Show.

Game 3 at TD Garden was always gonna be tough for any visiting side. While playing in NBA finals, the crowd is extra charged up and tends to encourage their team for “W”. The Golden State Warriors heard it all from the away crowd. One of the main victims was Draymond Green, who had to face the fire with a cool head.

Celtics made their 1st Finals appearance in 12 years and given the status of the franchise, that’s a big deal. So Fans were already pumped up and energy in the arena was off the charts. Draymond Green who played a rough game against Boston Celtics back at the Chase Center was their main target, and they never missed a chance to make the Warriors’ star forward agitated.

During a recent interview, Charles Barkley gave his thoughts on the Warriors’ comments. He took what they said as a sign of weakness as he said, “I thought it was weak on their part. I had 20,000 people telling me I sucked last week. You’re not in a position of power… You can’t come out with Draymond offending people and saying things about the crowd, and then when they give it back to you, you say ‘they shouldn’t be talking mean to me.'”

Member of NBA’s 75th-anniversary team – Charles made some valid points and was to the point on Draymond’s playing style. 3-time NBA Champion Green tends to bring fans into the game – let it be supporting fans or opposing fans. As per some analysts and even Draymond confirmed on his Podcast that “he feed on crowd’s energy”

Celtics were favorites in the series after their outstanding run in the East, but during those series, Fans were never seen much aggressive as they were in Game 3. Warriors, though had experience on their side, were considered underdogs and they did well playing against the physicality of the Celtics game. But adding Fans pressure and chants to the Celtics game was out of control for some Golden State players.

In the past also, the same Golden State Core had some “envious chants” on the road for their unparallel success, but behavior from the Celtics fans didn’t go down well with them. Draymond’s Wife personally requested NBA to look into the “mode of conduct” for the fans, while the league Commissioner want to see the fans enjoying themselves at the games.

Whatever may be the result of the postgame discussions, players have to focus on the “on court” activities and perform their best. Warriors are currently down 1-2 n the series and if they let anything else get into their head, it would be a “victory” for Celtics fans.
