“Total bulls**t!” Charles Barkley SLAMS the unnecessary Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark ‘name-calling’ saga despite amazing numbers for women’s basketball
Charles Barkley feels that Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark's beef distracted everyone from how good the performances were during a historic tournament

Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark made national headlines after their exchange during the NCAA Women’s Finals, and Charles Barkley had his say on the matter. “All the positive stuff they did for women’s basketball got lost in the noise afterward,” said Chuck on the Steam Room Podcast with Ernie Johnson. Angel Reese was criticized for trash-talking Caitlin which sparked an entire debate on social media.
“Caitlin Clark’s greatness and LSU’s greatness… I feel they lost celebrating greatness in their noise,” continued Chuck. Caitlin Clark broke multiple records on her historic run to the championship game. Clark recorded the first ever 30-pt triple-double and 40-pt triple-double in NCAA history. Charles Barkley said he was proud of all the girls, but the chaos afterward distracted everyone from it.
“Great basketball, great storylines but all the bs afterward distracted from the greatness,” continued Barkley. The NCAA Women’s Championship saw the LSU Tigers win their first-ever championship and topple one of the greatest players in NCAA history. Caitlin Clark was expected to carry the Iowa Hawkeyes like she had done all season but failed. Barkley feels these events and achievements were lost in their arguments and petty words.
Despite Charles Barkley’s comments, the tournament had one of its most successful seasons this year

The NCAA 2023 Women’s Tournament saw increased ratings, ticket prices, star power, and more. The demand for tickets to the NCAA Women’s Final Four was at an all-time high on the secondary market, according to ticketing technology provider Logitix. Before fees from various ticketing platforms, Logitix discovered that the average ticket price for the 2022 Women’s Final Four semifinal matches was $166 and is now upwards of $300.
Angel Reese has also denied all her beef with Caitlin Clark and has mended all the implied beef they had by social media and Charles Barkley. Clark and Reese will go again next year, which is the best thing to happen to the NCAA Women’s Program. With their current performances, ticket prices and TV ratings will only increase in anticipation.
In terms of pure basketball, all the credit goes to all the teams that took part, especially LSU and the Iowa Hawkeyes. The level of competition has increased with payers like Caitlin Clark shattering barriers and breaking records not even created in the Men’s game. The Finals was not the most exciting matchup as the post-game antics dominated the headlines but, the organization still remembers the performances that got them there.
