“My No. 1 priority is Turner” Charles Barkley to prioritize NBA on TNT over $75 million worth controversial offer from LIV Golf
Charles Barkley
Charles Barkley is now in a completely different situation compared to the one he was in some days ago. It felt like him joining hands with the Controversial Saudi-Backed LIV Golf League was a done deal but now things have changed. Charles Barkley was ready to leave NBA on TNT and his crewmates behind for the Golf League if they tripled his salary. He even met with Greg Norman and had a great chat but maybe that wasn’t enough for him to secure the bag and it’s all very confusing right now. Since they really wanted to bring Chuck on the green field but they didn’t offer him anything.
Last week on “The Dan Patrick Show”, Charles Barkley clearly mentioned a deadline for LIV Golf to give him an offer as he quoted: “The deadline is gonna be Thursday. I am playing on the pro-am on Thursday.” Chuck stepped on the field to play some golf at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey in the LIV Golf Event. But he probably left home disappointed as after so much of hyped-up stories and expectations he really got nothing out of it. Charles Barkley though would still be listed in their list for the people to land as a broadcaster but now the road for them would be very tough, of course they have got a lot of money but Chuck isn’t a guy to fall for such offers. But you never know.

Charles Barkley’s future with NBA on TNT and LIV Golf
Charles Barkley last week on “The Dan Patrick Show” made a very clear statement that hinted towards a deadline for an offer via LIV Golf’s side. As he quoted: “When I leave New Jersey Thursday night, when I leave the golf course, if I don’t have an offer in hand, it’s over.” And now it looks like it really is over. As Thursday is done and recently in an interview with Golfweek (on Thursday afternoon), Charles Barkley quoted: “No, they haven’t offered me anything.”
Further talking about NBA on TNT, Charles Barkley said: “My number one priority is Turner, and I’m not gonna keep Turner in limbo. So that’s my priority. They’ve given me everything I have.” Then talking about the two Golf Leagues he also mentioned: “I’ve got friends on both tours, it was great to see some of my friends I haven’t seen in a minute like Brooks, Bryson, Pat Perez, I wish these guys great success. I’m gonna support LIV, I’m gonna support the PGA Tour. But like I say, as of now, I don’t know anything. I haven’t been asked anything. I wish I could give somebody an answer, but I don’t know anything.”
The situation Charles Barkley is in is very understandable and he possibly has no reply or answer to it as even he said. But surely the Basketball fans are happy and probably partying out there. As there’s a great chance of the hilarious duo of Shaquille O’Neal and Chuck not breaking up and continuing at Turner. Honestly, him leaving the show will disappoint many fans around as he really is the guy who has everyone hooked to the show. So him not getting an offer from LIV Golf is surely an L for him but a Big W for his fans who enjoy watching him with his mates at NBA on TNT.
