Adding an unexpected twist, a crew member posed a question on maternity leave. Charles Barkley, with his characteristic humor, chimed in, commenting on the timing of her pregnancy and playfully suggesting she had a ‘strategic baby’ to escape the intensity of the playoffs. Fellow host, Ernie Johnson Jr. responded:

That’s not the most controversial thing you’ve ever said about motherhood.

Ernie then went on to play an old video clip of Charles Barkley. In the clip, Chuck had said:

Women be milking that baby pain too. It can’t be nearly as bad as playing a basketball game with a sprained ankle.

To Charles’ astonishment, a pre-recorded message suddenly appeared on the screen, featuring his daughter, Christiana, cradling her baby boy, Henry. In a playful rebuttal, refuted her father’s earlier claims. Drawing a humorous analogy, she compared playing basketball with a sprained ankle to a spa treatment, emphasizing that while a basketball game lasts 48 minutes, she had to endure labor pains for a whopping 48 hours.

Charles being Charles, went on to backtrack his statement, without actually apologizing though. He said:

Baby, I meant them other women.

Charles Barkley was on hearing his daughter’s disaffection for basketball

In a candid revelation, Charles Barkley’s only child, Christiana Barkley, confessed to not sharing her father’s enthusiasm for the beautiful game of basketball. The revelation came to light during a CBS 60 Minutes interview when Jon Wertheim gently reminded Charles that his daughter didn’t follow in his footsteps as an NBA basketball player.

Chuck responded hilariously. He said:

That was brutal. She was six feet tall, from birth (laughing), I am going to have the best female basketball player in the world. I can't wait to see she is old enough; I am going to teach her everything. And then we start playing, and I am sitting in the stands.

He went further to say:

And I am saying to myself, 'Oh man, she is not agressive at all.' So, I ask her one day, 'You don't like basketball, do you?' 'No, I hate basketball.' And it took me a little while to get over it, but she is a great person and a straight-edge dude and I had to brag about that.
