The TNT crew have their share of fun during the season and Charles Barkley is always a part of it. Charles mentioned that he had not seen a single Harry Potter movie in his life and everyone was stunned. “Not even the first one?“, asked Kenny Smith, to which Barkley replied, “that’s for kids“. Shaq and Kenny Smith joked about Barkley’s son Henry watching it with him. “We are not talking about my little man“, said Charles Barkley while laughing with the crew.
The show then presented their weekly Shaqtin’ A Fool which included some hilarious clips. However, the crew’s biggest laugh was at the start of the show. Kenny Smith was begging Shaq to bail them out and start the show. This crew is definitely one of television’s most iconic and consistently delivers. They have good analysis at times and joke around a lot as well.
Shaqtin’ A Fool however is the most loved show to come out of TNT. A show that has inspired a feud between Shaq and JaVale McGee. It has given viewers timeless bloopers from NBA players. I guess one reason people love the show is that it shows NBA athletes are human too.

Charles Barkley does indeed have a history of being pranked on this show. From Shaq to Kenny to Ernie, everyone has had a laugh at his expense. A video from 2022 shows the crew handing out gifts to Barkley and as he opens the box he is showered in Ping Pong balls. The whole crew was laughing hysterically as the clip went viral on social media as well.
However, Barkley has had his fair share of funny moments on the show. His quick wit is always a factor as one time while Kenny Smith was talking about his time with Hakeem Olajuwon in Houston he said “You know what Hakeem used to tell me?’. To which Barkley quickly responded, “Kenny pass me the water”. Kenny Smith did not have a major role in those Rockets teams as he was young so Barkley said he was Hakeem’s water boy.
Charles Barkley also is famously horrible at pronouncing names and has butchered names like Giannis Antetonkounmpo and Jonas Valanciunas. He is not shy to hide his opinion and he always does it with a smile on his face. This and many more reasons are why Charles Barkley is such a beloved part of the NBA media and one of the funniest people on TV.
