Kevin Garnet Advises Anthony Davis to take charge from LeBron James

Los Angeles Lakers have had series of bad seasons after their 2020 championship triumph. In particular Anthony Davis has been criticised for struggling with injuries. On the other hand, LBJ still managed to exert his power on the court whenever he was there for the team, but Davis took more time to recover. He was missing shots and rebounds he usually makes with ease. Last season was even poorer for the Lakers and Anthony Davis had a lukewarm campaign last season. He played only 40 games for the LA Lakers. He will be integral to a rebound in the upcoming season. But he has had his fair share of criticisms as his health has often been an issue. Kevin Garnet gave him some words of wisdom that might be a great help for Davis – and indirectly the franchise.

Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett, who led the Boston Celtics to the 2008 championship, recently offered advice to Davis. Analyst Chris Broussard reacted to the advice, agreeing with the 15-time All-Star. Broussard particularly mentioned that the advice should be entirely heard instead of getting in parts as it might be interpreted in a different way.

Los Angeles Lakers are trying to get back on track and winning games would surely enhance team confidence. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the team, the Lakers can easily have more win percentages and may qualify for the postseason.

Anthony Davis switched made a great debut with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning Championship in his very 1st season with the Lakers. He and LeBron James delivered a record 17th championship to the LA franchise. But After the 2020 season, it was a drastic change of fortunes for the Lakers. Davis could play only 50% of the games and LeBron too had limited on-court presence.

Without their two of the biggest stars, the Lakers crumbled and had poor back-to-back seasons. Identifying 29-year-old Davis as the most important piece in the Lakers franchise, on his podcast “KG Certified,” Kevin Garnett gave some words of wisdom to his counterpart.

He said, “I’m talking to AD right now. Bro, get lost, go to Hawaii somewhere, straight up and down. When you come into camp, come into camp better in shape than anybody and everybody. That’s what you should be focused on. You should go for the MVP for the 2022-23 NBA season. … I’m your OG, and that’s what I think.”

He added some encouraging words for Lakers star forward, “It’s his turn to carry the torch. … That shit killed me. He said he ain’t touched the rock?! … He can be so much better than what he is. I don’t know what’s around him. I would love to be able to work with somebody like that.”

NBA analyst Chris Broussard agreed with KG and added his points to the KG notes, “A thousand percent, I agree with KG. If AD just reads the quotes online, he’s going to feel like KG was calling him out. But if he watches the full clip, not just parts of it, the full clip, he’ll see KG was offering encouragement. KG was saying you should be an MVP in this league.

“He said, ‘I’m your OG.’ Like, he wasn’t just dissing him. He was encouraging him to be what we all think he can be.”

Los Angeles Lakers also have been praying for 100% fit jersey no 3. And as Broussard indicated that Garnett was being an older brother, maybe AD will get some encouragement from the podcast views. KG also said AD ought to compete for the MVP award this season; which is a huge compliment from a player having one of the best basketball minds in the league.
