“Don’t care what the numbers say, he has only won one playoff series” Chris Broussard questions Luka Doncic’s legacy ahead of Mavs semi-final series vs Suns

Chris Broussard and Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic and his magic haven’t yet reached the heart of Chris Broussard who is firm on his opinions that Luka can’t be categorised as one of the greatest to ever do it, yet. Though his chances to get into that category are pretty hight, they aren’t absolute, and that will only happen when he manages to get through a few things, specifically, multiple playoff rounds, which currently he only has one to his name. Despite of topping multiple stat lists and having multiple records to his name at a very young age, Doncic, according to Broussard can’t yet be called a legend, for the very exact reason of “age”, as the analyst feels, it is “too soon”.

Luka Doncic according to many people is one of the greatest players to ever grace the court of basketball, owing to his saucy dribbling, his smooth shooting and overall, his masterful performances which are second to none in this age of basketball. It is a known fact that Doncic is bound to become one of the icons of Basketball in this generation, but does that cement his legacy as one of the greatest to ever do it? According to Chris Broussard, not so soon!

Broussard was in argument with Nick Wright over Luka Doncic’s greatness where Wright had one opinion only that it wasn’t too early to call Doncic one of the greatest players, and it is bound to happen that his words will be proven right. Just a bit like Wright, Broussard had one opinion as well, that it was too soon to call Doncic and legacy as one of the greatest despite of all the numbers or stats that may be presented, and he gave just one example to solidify his claims stating that he had won only one round of the playoffs so far!

The argument between Broussard and Wright over Doncic got heated and resulted in nothing, though raised discussions among people who realised that the debate was legit and went on a quest to find answers to the questions asked. Let us take a deep look into this debate between Broussard and Wright.

Chris Broussard is not in the favour of calling Luka Doncic “one of the greatest” yet, owing to just one playoff round win

Nick Wright stated that Luka Doncic should be referred as one of the greatest to ever do it, owing to his masterful performances and similar stats he has put on the board so far, which are second to none when it comes to the entire history of the sport of basketball. He made strong claims which were also strongly refuted by Chris Broussard who started off by saying, “I don’t care what the numbers say. Luka has won ONE playoff round.” And then made several claims just to stick to his point that it was too soon to refer to him as one of the greatest no matter what anyone says.

While trying to prove himself right, Wright brought out the point of Larry Bird calling Michael Jordan (Broussard’s favourite player) “Jesus” or “God” after one playoff game, which was a similar situation, but Broussard didn’t agree to it stating that it was a statement made by the legend Bird himself, and no anyone else like an analyst. Broussard also stated that Bird did it because the entire media was busy slandering Jordan and Bird was the only one to praise the player.
