“You owe it to your teammates….to the Warriors” Chris Broussard urges Draymond Green to focus more on-court rather than podcast

Chris Broussard asks Draymond Green to perform on the court for the team

Golden State Warriors Draymond Green hasn’t been at its best in the finale showdown. Having evidently endured 2 bad games and 2 standard games in the 2022 NBA Finals series, his poor show has been the subject of criticism for many analysts. Recently on FOX Sports Radio Show, Chris Broussard asked Draymond to concentrate on the on-court action more rather than his podcast.

Golden State Warriors, playing as underdogs in the 2022 NBA Finals leveled the series 2 games apiece against Boston Celtics. The Major contributor to their success has come from 3-Point King-Stephen Curry, while Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson supported their leader well in the games. But with everyone praising Steph for his heroics, the Warriors’ fans and team are more concerned about the performances of their other superstar Draymond Green. He has been in the news more often for both on and off-court-related issues. The star forward has been criticized for his utterances on his podcast and his tweets, whereas he has contributed very little to the hardwood.

Draymond Green has been with the Warriors for a decade now and also played in all 6 NBA Finals. He is known for his outspoken attitude on the court and in interviews too, but now with the addition of “The Draymond Green Show”, he found more ways to express himself over the mike. Chris Broussard, while talking on “the old Couple” show pointed out the same point as he urged 3-time NBA Champion Green to “express” himself more on the court rather than on Podcasts.

Golden State Warriors have maintained their pace with the young Celts team, but Draymond Green’s performances are not something that they would cherish from the series. He is averaging 4 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals per game. These performances do not justify Draymond’s status in the team – as a member of “Big-3” of a Championship contender team.

Also very recently he made a bold statement following the criticism over his podcasts that, it is as important as basketball for him. He has never been shy about expressing himself on the court, nor does he back down on his social media platforms or his podcast. Though the podcast is a medium where the four-time All-Star connects with fans, he needs to give more importance to some effective productions on the court. His podcasts are considered his way of making a mark in the media space, and also as a futuristic career path.

While a host of many TV Shows, Chris Broussard has no issue with Draymond’s podcast, this new utterance from Draymond Green has infuriated him. Broussard disagreed with the forward as stated that while Green has a great personality and it’s the game that got him to where he is today.

As far as the Warriors team is concerned, the 2017 Defensive player of the season Green is one of the most important players on their roaster. He plays a vital role at both ends of the floor. And as Broussard mentioned; the Warriors are the ones cutting his paychecks, so Green owes to the team and the franchise. Green is the 4th highest-paid athlete in the Warriors’ roaster.

Broussard explained the situation, “You got a great personality. You’ll say what you want, which is strength. But don’t get it twisted. This all started with basketball and you owe it to yourself but at this point.” For his role in the team and his teammates, Broussard added, “I say, as much if not more importantly you owe it to your teammates you owe it to the warriors they’re the ones paying you the 20 – 30 million, whatever it is you have a chance to win another championship.”

Draymond Green was criticized by many analysts like Nick Wright, Skip Bayless, etc for paying more attention to his podcast. And many believe that he is distracted due to the podcast situation. Even social media was flooded with Draymond’s podcast memes. Some might even say that star forward has not left everything on the court during the NBA Finals.

Broussard was irritated with Green’s idea of equating his podcast to his basketball. He said, “It’s not that you can’t do something else, but don’t tell me it’s as important to you as the podcast. Because guess what! The only reason you have a podcast is because of basketball. So don’t you can’t tell me it’s as important as basketball”

Draymond’s newfound passion has attracted much negative response from the media and NBA pundits. Though the show is a big hit amongst fans, it should not overshadow Green’s on-court performances. Now Draymond Green and Golden State Warriors will host the Celtics at Chase Center on Monday night, where Green might have a big game and use it as a topic for his Podcast.
