Chris Paul RETIRING at LA Clippers, NBA analyst hints reunion at Lob City
Chris Paul could end his career with the Clippers after being traded to the Wizards, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

Chris Paul’s journey in the NBA may come full circle. The 12-time All-Star point guard, who was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Washington Wizards on Sunday in exchange for Bradley Beal, is expected to be bought out by the Wizards in the near future, sources told ESPN.
That would make Paul a free agent who can sign with any team he wants. And one of those teams could be the LA Clippers, where Paul spent six of his best seasons from 2011 to 2017 and formed a dynamic trio with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan known as “Lob City”
Sources told ESPN that Paul would prefer to be with his family in Los Angeles as he nears the end of his career, and that the Clippers have a strong case for him over the Lakers, who are also reportedly interested in him.
“Even though he’s close with LeBron James and the Lakers potentially have an open job at starting point guard, I think the Clippers, based on what I can glean, are the team that may be the better fit for him,” said ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. “I think there could be some mutual interest there between the Clippers and Chris Paul.”

Chris Paul could be the answer to the Clippers’ championship aspirations
The Clippers are coming off a frustrating season where they fell short of their championship aspirations. They also lacked a true leader who could run their offense and make clutch plays in crunch time. That’s where Paul could come in and fill a huge gap for them.
Paul is one of the greatest point guards of all time, and he showed it again last season. He averaged 13.9 points, 8.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 44% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range.
Of course, there are some potential hurdles for this scenario to happen. The Clippers would have to clear some cap space to sign Paul, which could mean trading or waiving some of their current players. And then there is the question of whether Paul would want to return to the Clippers after leaving them on bad terms four years ago. He reportedly had some issues with Doc Rivers, who was then their head coach, and some of his teammates.
But if Paul is willing to put aside his past grievances and focus on his future goals, he could find a perfect landing spot with the Clippers. He could end his career where he started his prime, and maybe finally win that elusive ring that has eluded him for so long.
