“He loves it more when you trash talk to him being behind” CJ McCollum urges Boston Celtics to not get caught in Draymond Green’s mind games

Draymond Green was well below par in Game 1 of the NBA Finals as Boston Celtics fed upon the defensive voids of Golden State Warriors in the fourth quarter. Given that the former DPOY was brutally criticized by analysts and sports media personalities for failing to deliver. However, in Game 2, Draymond Green signified just why he leads the force for Dubs as they thumped past Ime Udoka’s team.

In Game 2 in particular, Draymond Green could be witnessed getting tangled with majority of the Celtics players. This made Pelicans’ CJ McCollum deliver a huge piece of advice as Game 3 is all set to be hosted in the Boston backyard, TD Garden. What more did he suggest? Take a look below-

Will Draymond Green be able the difference maker in Warriors vs Celtics finale showdown?

Appearing on the latest episode of Get Up, New Orleans Pelicans star scorer CJ McCollum spoke about how he handled things against someone like Draymond. He said, “I think you just have to play your game. I think you cannot get caught up in Draymond’s antics, that’s who he is as a person. That’s who he is as a player. He loves it when you talk trash. But he loves it even more when you talk trash when you’re behind.”

Talking about the particular stats of the former DPOY, Green finished the regular season averaging 7.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. He put up those numbers while shooting 52.5% from the field and a paltry 29.6% from the perimeter.

Draymond has the championship experience which these young and charismatic Celtics’ players do not possess. Given that Ime Udoka’s team are majorly struggling in the third-quarter, they are surely to keep their cool and composure intact if they are to take the game deep against the resilient Golden State Warriors.

Given that the Celtics are already aware on how to expose Steve Kerr’s team, an early thumping by the home team on Wednesday could strengthen their morale going ahead in the latter quarters. Moreover, with Green being at his physical best, will the likes of Tatum, Brown and Smart be having appropriate answers? Remains to be seen.
