It seems like James Harden will have to suit up for the Philadelphia 76ers next season, as his trade request will finally not be fulfilled. His preferred destination, the Los Angeles Clippers, has ended trade talks for him, according to NBA Insider Brian Windhorst. This ends all hopes for Harden, who applied all the antics he could to get his wish.
Harden has been aiming to get himself traded from the 76ers after the organization refused to offer him a max contract extension. It made sense for Philly, as it didn’t make sense to give an aging Harden a max contract with his production declining every season. However, Harden made an argument that he took a pay cut to help the team in the promise of getting a max contract and said he would sit out and not play next season if he wasn’t traded to the Clippers.
Now, with the trade talks coming to a halt until the trade deadline in February, Harden will have to suit up for the Philadelphia 76ers. If he does not, he could very well say adieu to his basketball career, as Philly could ban him from playing basketball ever again. So, Philly fans can expect Harden to show up to games similarly to the shape he was in when he was being traded from Houston and Brooklyn, which could hurt Philly’s chances to win the championship.

James Harden has requested a trade three times in the past three seasons, going from the Rockets to the Nets, to the Sixers, and now requesting a trade from the 76ers to the Clippers, which has ultimately failed. Following the Clippers ending trade talks with the 76ers for Harden, NBA fans mercilessly trolled Harden. Here are some of the reactions:
It would be interesting to see if Harden even shows up for training camp and risks getting himself banned from ever playing basketball again. He could also show up to training camp out of shape and force the 76ers to trade him or witness the most awful level of play Harden can possibly exhibit on the court.
