Stephen Curry has been the leading point of attack for the Golden State Warriors since getting drafted in 2009. He has always led the attack and has been instrumental in the dynastical success the Warriors have enjoyed in the past decade. Hence, it is vitally important that Curry is healthy. Tonight, there was a massive scare. A devastating ankle roll forced Curry off before the game ended.
The Warriors had to win the game against the Chicago Bulls to keep their playoff motives in place. Despite being behind in the fourth quarter, Curry and his teammates could not stop fighting. On one play, a cutting Curry received the ball from Draymond Green. But as he was about to explode to the basket, Coby White came over to provide defensive help to Alex Caruso. Curry tried to stop in his tracks when his leading right foot gripped the hardwood a little too much, causing his ankle to roll. Curry started limping off the court and gestured that he was in a lot of pain.

How much Stephen Curry means to the Golden State Warriors was evident on the face of the home crowd. Everyone’s facial expressions indicated their shock at seeing their beloved superstar limping off the court. Curry did not return to the game, after going to the medical room to be evaluated.
At that point, the game against the Bulls was already out of the hands of Curry and the Warriors. They eventually lost the game 122-125, even though Curry’s teammates tried a valiant comeback in the closing minutes. If Curry had not suffered an injury, his clutch shooting might have tilted the game in their favor.
Stephen Curry’s health is vital for the Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors have won 4 titles in the past 9 seasons. That record makes them one of the best teams in the league, a standard they want to maintain. For that to continue over the next few years, they need to have an elite team of players. That elite team needs a leader, which in this case is Stephen Curry.
Curry is the most important cog in the Golden State Warriors’ wheel. Without his scoring, the Warriors cannot win regularly against the best teams. As they want to target at least a couple of NBA titles until his probable retirement, a healthy Curry is vital to that goal.
This season, the Warriors are 9th in the Western Conference playoff seedings. They need Curry back and healthy if they are to go after another NBA title. The Warriors could fall out of the playoffs if Curry misses games.
