“Warriors are like the LA Rams of NBA” Colin Cowherd believes Kevin Durant should have never left Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Co.
Golden State Warriors and LA Rams
The way Golden State Warriors are winning in the Playoffs is surely quite impressive. Their culture and “team effort” is proving to be a real difference maker for them. On the same note, sports media personality Colin Cowherd even compared them to the 2022 Super Bowl Winners LA Rams.
Golden State Warriors dominated the 2nd game of the series with their all-around performance against the Denver Nuggets. The latter started the game well, but in the end –especially in the 3rd quarter, Dubs outscored their opponents by 14 points and never looked threatened until the final buzzer. While talking about the particular victory, Colin Cowherd commented on 2 different games, teams – and cultural differences that defined the results. As per Colin, the Warriors are like the LA Rams of the NBA.
In the Warriors’ win, everyone contributed handsomely, and the unselfish plays and team defense were visible on important plays. Versatility and adaptability give them some smooth runs in the game.
Cowherd compares Golden State Warriors to LA Rams; Should Kevin Durant have left?
Commenting on the culture at Golden State Warriors, Colin praised their work ethic, hard work, and the idea of developing young talent under the guidance of established veterans. While comparing them with the reigning Super Bowl Champions, LA Rams Colin said, “I just referenced this, they’re the LA Rams of the NBA. Really smart GM, Really smart coach, awesome culture. They always seem to find money that nobody else has. They draft and develop really well. And they make odd players and weird players and old players all fit.”
When Kevin Durant arrived in San Francisco, he too quickly settled into the adaptive culture of the team. They enjoyed massive dominance over the league winning 3 titles in 4 NBA finals. But KD’s decision to move and create his super-team proved costly for him. Though the Nets are still a threat in the league, the Warriors have more balance and depth than them.
Furthermore Cowherd referred to the Wolves’ failure Andrew Wiggins, Warriors not only find the perfect place for the Wiggins, he developed at an All-Star level right in his very 1st season with the team. Also, the trade Dubs clear out DeAndre Russell.
Wiggins arrived in the Bay area with a negative reputation as an inefficient shooter and a disinterested defender. But the change and growth is visible in the regular-season games later in the season. Also the development of “Young Splash” Jordan Poole is a very encouraging sign for the Warriors.
Golden State Warriors setting themselves for the glory
Just like LA Rams, can the Warriors go on and finish up the season with a championship ring is an interesting debate after all. They have the pieces to perform against most of the major teams in the West playoff scenario. Though they lost their top spot to Phoenix Suns and fell behind another emerging unit, the Memphis Grizzlies, yet the Warriors have the power-house to kill any team with full strength.
For the Playoffs, the team looks all fresh, with the sound combinations and understanding between the players. Their “unselfish” plays are again proving more of a dagger in the opponent’s heart.
