Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets’ worst nightmare as finally become a reality as the team from Barclays Centre has finally been clean swept in the first-round series via the Boston Celtics. Being the first and only team to bow out of the playoffs in such demeaning fashion, who would have thought that a team consisting the likes of Kyrie Irving, KD, Seth Curry among other stars would suffer with such humiliation.

With Durant facing major embarrassment being swept for the first time in his career, Colin Cowherd feels that the former is to blame for making himself stand in such a situation. Cowherd went onto highlight how Durant’s decision have haunted him as he chose a team with Irving and coach Nash in place of Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr.

Colin Cowherd, on his podcast, explained how Kevin Durant’s terrible decision-making has led to everything he is going through right now, “He traded in Steve Kerr for Steve Nash. Kevin Durant traded in Steph Curry for Kyrie Irving. Those are massive downgrades. He chose the wrong guys to ride with and this is what you get. The Warriors, arguably, have A++ at owner, GM, head coach and star.”

Cowherd added, “And because he’s non-confrontational and couldn’t handle a spat with Draymond Green, he goes to the second most popular franchise in New York, a brand-new coach and Kyrie Irving.”

Cowherd’s point stated is surely not wrong, Kevin Durant’s playoff record with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green is 38-10. Moreover, it does feel like that particular Dubs team was unbeatable in any era. Not only that, the team combined together was selfless, hardworking and most importantly, able to turn any deficit.

That being said, Kevin Durant has finally thumped with his first career sweep and it seems like the Nets would want to majorly re-build their roster as the situation would be completely different beginning the 2022-23 season. Will we witness KD being equipped with more weapons at his disposal? Time will unravel all answers.
