“Draft, be patient and develop” Colin Cowherd delivers harsh Warriors reality check to Lakers
Colin Cowherd and LeBron James
Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors are two of the most successful teams in modern-day NBA. Having won at least a championship in the previous five seasons, both these teams have worked on totally different ideologies. Which was recently spotted by sports media personality Colin Cowherd. Moreover, he went onto bash the 2020 NBA Champ over how the other team has been able to trust their young core and players coming into the mix.
To think about it, the Golden State Warriors who already have a Big 3 trio of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, have already started building their team for the future in Jonathan Kuminga, Jordan Poole and James Wiseman. The same was spotted and elaborated upon by Colin Cowherd.
Colin Cowherd tells Lakers to learn from Warriors ideology
The focus of Cowherd’s latest take was focused on why the Warriors are thriving in the playoffs while the Lakers are vacationing.
“There’s no luck involved here. This is what the Warriors do and what the Lakers can’t do. Draft, be patient and develop,” the FOX Sports broadcaster added.
The Lakers are coming on the backs of one of the worst ever seasons ever witnessed by the fan base. Obviously there plans and strategies did not work out. On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors are being led by their Big 3 in the playoffs after a 2-year gap. There are surely going to be comparisons made between two teams who were reckoned to lock horns in the conference finals before the start of the 2021-22 season.
Lastly, Colin Cowherd’s point does hold a point, over the past couple of seasons and more the purple and gold franchise have traded the likes of Lonzo Ball, Brandon ingram, D’Angelo Russell among other stars from the team in order to bring marquee seniors. Interestingly all of these listed young stars are currently playing in the playoffs, representing their new teams. Will Cowherd’s latest take help the Lakers in following a new approach in the 2022-23 season? Remains to be seen.
