“LeBron James bailed on his hometown twice, he bailed on Dwayne Wade” Colin Cowherd gets brutally honest on LeBron James playing for the Warriors in 2023
Colin Cowherd believes Lebron James could end up at Golden State
LeBron James has had an illustrious career made out of poster dunks, buzzer beaters and pretty applaud-worthy attacking prowess, yet his short-comings are what people focus at while talking about him, this time its Colin Cowherd. The Los Angeles Lakers star-studded team not making into the playoffs was and has been one of the biggest talking points in and around the world of NBA. With One of the All-Time Greats, Lebron James himself, and two future Hall of Famers in Anthony Davis and freshly traded, Russell Westbrook, the Lakers looked scary on paper, not so much on court.
With multiple speculations around his time at the Lakers, We’ve got to wait a few months to know whether the 4x Champ stays and gets another attempt for the Lakers’ 18th title or he gets traded. The Lakers have a proud winning history, but that desire to always be in contention may have just backfired after the 2021-22 season that saw them miss the playoffs. It’s already the second time in four years since LeBron arrived that they failed to make it to the postseason.

“You really don’t think he’ll bail?” – Colin Cowherd believes Lebron James could end up at the Warriors
Lebron has been a massive admirer of Stephen Curry, who he respects as one of the modern greats. James has hinted multiple times that he would love to pair up with the ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ on his show “The Shop.” He initially revealed his feelings about how Steph is one of the best players he has played against, and the one active player he would love to pair up with, even picking to play for Golden State rather than Boston Celtics. On “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” the sports analyst, Colin Cowherd said that if he could leave his hometown twice, bidding adieu to the Lakers would not be that hard.
“They call it speaking something into existence. LeBron James, I believe, has been doing that, twice talking about playing with the Warriors and Steph Curry. I think he’s speaking it into existence. LeBron’s a smart guy. He’s a billion-dollar net worth as a current active NBA player. He’s good with business. He bailed on his hometown twice, he bailed on Pat Riley and his best friend Dwyane Wade, you don’t think he’ll bail on the Lakers?“
“His contract’s up in a year. You really don’t think he’ll bail? Golden State, look like they could use a little rest for Steph Curry, Klay Thompson. They could use a dynamic athlete. LeBron did lead the NBA in field goal percentage on two’s taken this year.” Colin explained, very reasonably so, as we have witnessed how great Curry and LeBron play together during All-Star Games, maybe they want to break the league with their stellar partnership ? Maybe .
While Golden State’s trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are still thriving, they already have their future cornerstones set in Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody. However, Steph would also be pleased to play with arguably the greatest player of all time in the NBA, putting all those years of Championship rivalries behind them. With age catching up, and his Lakers contract expiring in 2023, Lebron could be looking for a fitting end to a legendary career.
James has explicitly stated that he will play for the team that drafts his son. He has said that is his No. 1 goal and will make them the first father-son duo to play in NBA history. As the years go by, everyone will get a clearer picture of what the four-time NBA champ wants. He has always been vocal about his desires, as he has made it clear he is looking to buy an NBA franchise. However, the duo of Stephen Curry and Lebron James together on a team would smell chaos for the league, as we would love the entertainment these two would bring together.
