“Let’s make some money and let someone else clean our mess” Colin Cowherd pin-points major flaw in Brooklyn Nets’ culture

Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant

The Brooklyn Nets consisting of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were considered favorites to cause an upset at TD Garden when they locked horns against the Boston Celtics in Game 1. Yet it was Jayson Tatum’s heroics who secured a much-deserved victory for the home team. Resulting in some major flaws being showcased in and by the Brooklyn Nets. On which Colin Cowherd revealed his unique opinion.

Moreover, the drama of Kyrie Irving getting into a tangle with heckling Celtics fans seemed to have caught the limelight, Cowherd explained the cultural difference between Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets.

What was opinionated by Colin Cowherd on Brooklyn Nets?

Cowherd started discussing Brooklyn Nets on The Herd and quoted, “But what we have in this series is really two different basketball cultures. If it was a movie, Boston would be Hoosiers…defense, intensity, they care, there’s chemistry, they’ve got a star player, they make sure there’s ball screens, they are always trying to get Jayson Tatum loose, they’ve got guys who have overachieved in the draft, they are good for basketball.”

Adding more to the Brooklyn Nets banter, he added, “The Nets, if they were a movie, they’d be a boiler room. Let’s make some money and leave somebody else to deal with our mess. It’s ego, defense is optional, I’m not even sure if they have plays.

Kevin Durant

“Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, it’s just like, ‘get a bucket’. I’m not sure they’re particularly well-coached. I’m not sure they want plays. So, Boston winning is good for basketball, so was Hoosiers, and Brooklyn is good for drama, and I can’t take my eyes off them.”

Does Cowherd’s approach sound viable? Remains to be a matter of opinion. However, the Brooklyn Nets might be a super house with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant on the offensive end, but they lack a major defender who could stop the opposition from attacking the paint. Given that the likes of Seth curry and Patty Mills too, increase their efficiency on just one end, Steve Nash does need to come up with a solution rather quickly.
