“They’re just not gifted enough offensively to even band an average Heat-side” Colin Cowherd questions Boston Celtics pedigree ahead of NBA Finals vs Warriors

“They’re just not gifted enough offensively to even band an average Heat-side” Colin Cowherd questions Boston Celtics pedigree ahead of NBA Finals vs Warriors

Colin Cowherd and the Boston Celtics

Colin Cowherd doesn’t have Boston Celtics winning over the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals. As he believes the Dubs will be the champions in six games in the series as they are the better one and are experienced as they have been in many Finals and many hard and tough series. While Boston Celtics are a young team and inexperienced as it took them seven games to get rid of the Miami Heat who had no one but Jimmy Butler who balled out. Colin Cowherd though also appreciated Boston Celtics for their defensive edge in the league as they are the best defending team. But has a strong belief that they won’t be able to outplay the Warriors for 4 times and will fall down badly on the offensive end. As just Jayson Tatum won’t be enough and others are inconsistent.

The Boston Celtics have made it to the NBA Finals with one of the toughest roads and multiple Game sevens. They were below .500 but got the job done and won the eastern conference something not many believed in. But now against the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors, it would be necessary for the trio of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart to step up, especially on the offensive end, and get the job done. Or else Colin Cowherd will really get his prediction and take regarding the 2022 NBA Finals correct. Jayson Tatum won’t really be able to ball out as the Dubs will try to cut his FG percentage the analyst said. So the team will have to depend upon Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart to carry the offensive end in order to win some games.

Colin Cowherd started his take by appreciating the Celtics and their performance in Game 7 against the Miami Heat but was soon critical of them. As he quoted: “Boston was the better team every single one of their starter got a vote for all-defense. They did something well Miami doesn’t do anything particularly well…They don’t have a second real scorer…Boston is not a great team. As I was watching the game tonight. When Boston goes on their run great team Jordan Bulls…it’s lightning-fast and the game is over…Boston can dominate you because they are so capable defensively.” Further, he also criticized the offensive end of the Celtics as he mentioned Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart are inconsistent and not someone to depend upon when Jayson Tatum isn’t heated up.

Colin Cowherd kept attacking the offensive end of the Boston Celtics with some appreciation. As he quoted: “I felt Boston was the better team five minutes into this game, maybe three minutes into this game, but they’re just not gifted enough offensively to even put away a banged up fairly average Miami team…Miami, though, was a pretty weak number one seed and they fell apart physically in this series, and the fact it was so hard for the Celtics to put them away just speaks to their inexperience winning big series.”

Colin Cowherd is not all wrong with his take as he mentioned that the Dubs will have an experience advantage and they’ll surely do what can get them the win. But him being this critical of the Celtics offense isn’t just like by many around as they have many guys to rely on and have been living up to the expectations every time needed. As of now, the take and prediction by Colin Cowherd can’t be claimed right or wrong. As the Finals are yet to begin and Game 1 between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics at Chase Center will surely make the picture a bit more clear.

But talking about the NBA Finals he also mentioned: “I do think it’s the most competitive matchup possible. … A coastal matchup, it’ll get good numbers, two big brands between Curry and Tatum, you’re talking about great players. I think this is the series the NBA deep down wanted.”
