“Who will go for a guy who wasn’t happy in Golden State” Colin Cowherd says Kevin Durant is trapped in Brooklyn because of his own makings
Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant stunned the NBA by requesting a trade away from the Brooklyn Nets. It always looked doubtful that it would happen, especially after the Rudy Gobert deal. Durant has elected to stay with the Nets as training camp approaches.
Colin Cowherd addressed the issue on his show “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.” He argued that no well-run organisation would be willing to part with the assets required to get Kevin Durant. According to Cowherd: “Milwaukee was interested, Golden State was interested, Boston was interested, Miami was interested, Phoenix was interested, but those are well-run teams, and well-run teams aren’t going to gut their franchise for a guy that wasn’t even happy in Golden State.
Kevin Durant’s Problems with Brooklyn nets
Kevin Durant caused havoc in the NBA summer by requesting a trade out of Brooklyn. Durant and his alleged reasons for leaving were, On the one hand, he is thought to be disappointed with the Nets’ season. On the other side, he is thought to be dissatisfied with the team’s attitude toward Irving, who was the key reason for the Nets’ terrible season.
According to one source -“Kyrie wrecked everything,” but Durant is responding to the consequences rather than the cause, and he now sees the Nets as hopeless. “There’s no use in (him) choosing sides when it’s all too late,” the source added. In a meeting with Joe Tsai, Durant told Tsai at the meeting that he did not trust the team’s direction and that Tsai had to pick between Durant and general manager Sean Marks and coach Steve Nash.
The Way Forward
According to latest reports, Durant has elected to stay with the Nets as training camp approaches. The Brooklyn Nets should be happy with Kevin Durant’s choice to stay. Without Durant, the Nets would probably be better off rebuilding, but they would lack the necessary assets. The Nets are likely championship contenders with Durant.
The Nets have one of, if not the, most talented ‘Big 3’ in the NBA in Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons. While there are worries about off-the-court issues, all three players should go into this season with a chip on their shoulders and a determination to prove their doubters wrong. The trio’s talent has never been in doubt, and if motivated, they might be lethal.
Aside from their ‘Big 3,’ the Nets have the depth, shooting, and defence required to succeed in the current NBA. It also helps that they have an abundance of wings in what Durant refers to as a “wings league.” The roster remains one of the strongest in the NBA, and if the Nets can get everyone on the same page, they may go deep into the playoffs.
