When the Brooklyn Nets traded James Harden to acquire the services of Ben Simmons, many expected that the defensive voids of this team had come to an end. Although the Australian playmaker took his time to return to full health, many reports stated Simmons to return on-court for the first time, representing his new team. However, all these rumors have been buried down under as the final report claims otherwise.

Colin Cowherd’s latest tweet suggests that Ben Simmons has been ruled out of Game 4 against the Boston Celtics, when his team were in dire need of his presence. The former went one step ahead and sarcastically trolled the Australian for bailing out on his teammates, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

The sports media personality surely did not hold back in calling out Ben Simmons, for being unreliable and not even stepping up when his team is on the brink of elimination. With their backs against the wall, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will look to lead the charge on Monday night against the Celtics in hopes of avoiding elimination.

They were initially expecting to get reinforcements in the form of Simmons, but that plan has apparently been scrapped, putting the Nets at even more of a disadvantage in their hopes of overcoming the 3-0 deficit. Various reports had suggested that Game 4 would be Nets’ fans first chance to see Simmons in uniform and on the court, though that won’t be the case anymore.

The Brooklyn Nets could re-live their worst nightmare if the Celtics deliver yet another blow at their home turf in Game 4. Given that the defensive void of this team has been majorly exposed, the only way to counter back is to go berserk on the offensive end.

Now with Simmons out of Game 4’s scenario, it will be interesting to see how Steve Nash is going to shape his starting five in order to stop Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart and other Celtic players attacking the rim. Will we witness the first clean sweep of the first-round series? Or is Nets going to extend this particular series?
