JJ Redick surely came into a lot of good books and gained tons of fans when he blasted Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo for his controversial ‘shut up and play’ take on Golden State warriors veteran star Draymond Green. Now the latest to opinionate upon that matter is another sports media personality, Colin Cowherd.

On the same note, Cowherd has now shared his thoughts on this dust-up and according to the long-time sports broadcaster, he understands where Chris Russo, as an “old school broadcaster,” is coming from. He then went on to heap praise on Redick for his fearlessness and his emergence as one of the brightest and upcoming analysts and voices. 

Watching the above clip, there surely is no denying that Chris Russo’s comments have been met with a ton of controversy with even the resilient Warriors star Draymond Green himself claiming that the former’s comments had a “very racist connotation.” Unlike the veteran defender however, Cowherd has decided to steer clear of the race issue as he focused on the incident from the perspective of a broadcaster.

It does feel like Colin Cowherd has developed huge amount of appreciation for JJ Redick, making his voice clear. But how ironic is it to know that the former New Orlean Pelicans player does not even like him. But as things stands it does seem like Draymond Green and JJ Redick lashing out at Russo, would be fetching even more opinions around and in the NBA world. 

For now, all eyes will be on Draymond Green and whether or not he could inspire his Dubs team to once again take the lead over Memphis Grizzlies in Game 3.
