Conor McGregor was in attendance for Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. The Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat, unfortunately, once again fell on the losing end. And, now is down 1-3 against the Denver Nuggets who are just better than them. However, the Miami Heat didn’t just lose the game against the Denver Nuggets at 95-198. They also lost their mascot, Burnie, due to Conor McGregor.
It’s been a long time since Conor McGregor made headlines for knocking out someone. But that’s the case this time and unfortunately, on the receiving end, it’s not a UFC champion or any type of fighter. Instead, it was the innocent Miami Heat mascot, Burnie. During the third quarter of Game 4, Burnie signed up for getting punched by Conor McGregor.
It was all part of a skit to promote McGregor’s new pain relief spray. But the skit went too real when Conor McGregor hit Burnie with a strong left hook and knocked him out. It was all supposed to be staged, but the drama turned into reality after Burnie got knocked out with a real punch by one of the bests, Notorious.
It just didn’t end on that left hook and McGregor even landed another strong hand straight at the face of Burnie, who was already knocked out and lying down. After the second punch, Conor McGregor even used his new spray on the mascot. But none of that worked, and the staff had to drag Burnie down the court.
According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the Miami Heat’s mascot, Burnie was then rushed to an emergency room of a nearby hospital. The man who was dressed up as Burnie and was doing his job really had to eat up two strong punches on his face.
Will Conor McGregor face any consequences for knocking out Miami Heat’s mascot?
Conor McGregor attended the whole game and so far, no such investigation or reviews are out against him. Also, the man who was dressed up as Burnie is doing well at his home and has even received pain medications. So the chances of him facing any consequences are very low and down. Also, it was part of a skit at the end of the day. But again, those punches were real, so nothing can be said.
This can surely impact his new pain relief spray business as that’s too in the headlines after the incident. Also, he earned another funny moment during the game which will be used as a meme for years to come. McGregor is really one of a kind and fortunately, he isn’t retiring any time soon. And, fans will once again get to see him knockout not mascots but real fighters in the ring very soon.
