CURSED PLAYER on Suns roster has NBA Twitter believing Nuggets to win series in 7
Landry Shamet has a history of losing in the conference semifinals in a Game 7. Will he bring bad luck to the Suns?

The Denver Nuggets were one stop away from taking a commanding 3-1 lead over the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semifinals, but they couldn’t get it done. Instead, they watched as Landry Shamet, a backup guard for the Suns who had been cold from 3-point range in the playoffs, caught fire and hit five triples to help Phoenix win 129-124 on Sunday night.
Shamet scored 19 points off the bench. He was the X-factor for the Suns and was the only third player, besides Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, who had points in double digits.
The Nuggets had their own star in Nikola Jokic, who had a dominant performance with 53 points, four rebounds, and 11 assists. But he was robbed of a chance to tie or win the game in the final seconds of the game when he jumped for the jump ball and was clearly fouled by DeAndre Ayton, but the referees swallowed their whistles.
The series is now tied at 2-2, with Game 5 set for Tuesday night in Denver. The Nuggets will have to regroup and protect their home court. But they will also have to deal with a potential curse that looms over the Suns: the Landry Shamet curse.

The Landry Shamet curse explained

Landry Shamet has a dubious distinction in his NBA career: every team he has started the season with has lost in the conference semifinals in a Game 7.
In 2019, Shamet was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Los Angeles Clippers during his rookie season. The Sixers lost to the Toronto Raptors on a buzzer-beater by Kawhi Leonard that bounced four times on the rim before falling in. In 2020, Shamet was part of the Clippers team that squandered a 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets and lost in seven games.
In 2021, Shamet was traded again, this time from the Clippers to the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets had a loaded roster with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, but they couldn’t get past the Milwaukee Bucks in seven games. The Bucks went on to win the championship. And last year, Shamet started the season with the Nets before being traded to the Suns. The Suns lost to Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks in seven games.
Some fans believe that Shamet is cursed and that he will bring bad luck to any team he plays for. Here are some tweets from fans who think that:
Of course, this is just a superstition, that is not to say that Shamet was responsible for all these eliminations, but only time will tell how this curse plays out for the Suns.
