Ja Morant's Off-Court Troubles Continue: Did He Ignore Gilbert Arenas' Advice?

“Cut his hair” – Gilbert Arenas advises DRACONIAN RULES for Ja Morant to put an end to controversy

Memphis Grizzlies superstar guard Ja Morant has been mired in controversy during the 2022-23 NBA season with multiple incidents off the court. However, prior to the recent incident, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas had given him some advice to avoid such incidents.

Arenas had advised Morant to lock himself in the gym and house, cut his hair, get a security team, and have at least three women as part of that crew. He further suggested that having female security guards would make him look less thuggish and more approachable. Arenas also recommended that Morant not be seen in public and avoid getting into trouble at all costs, even going as far as to say not to get a speeding ticket.

“I say this is gonna happen so he has all the most important summer of this man’s career is this summer he better lock himself in the gym in the house. Cut his hair, get a security team, have at least three women as part of that crew right so you don’t look thuggish right, like Kobe did. Kobe’s main security guard was a woman, a big Asian woman who sat outside the store, right. Get some females, so if anything happens, they’re less, they think aggressive, they think right, so when you know people saying you walk around, you don’t look like a thug, you just look like you’re being protected.”

Gilbert added:

“You start having big old goons and try not to be seen all summer, all that dancing in videos everywhere, that’s that was cool, it was fun, then great, the okay, like he was just at uh overtime Elite right, him, his daughter, his pops, they dancing like it’s cool around the kids, but from the Optics everyone’s looking like it don’t look like you learned anything. Yeah, so you can’t get it, you cannot be seen or get in trouble at all, not a speeding ticket.”

Unfortunately, it seems that Ja Morant did not follow Gilbert Arenas’ advice as a new video has surfaced on the internet showing him holding what looks like a gun. This comes after he was suspended earlier in the season for showing a gun on his Instagram Live.

In the latest incident, Morant was seen on his friend’s Instagram Live, showing the sign of a gun with his hands before eventually flashing what appeared to be a gun. It is unclear when or where the video was taken.

The Memphis Grizzlies announced the suspension, which is pending a league review of the recent incident, but it remains to be seen how this will impact Morant’s future with the team. It is clear, however, that he needs to take Gilbert Arenas’ advice more seriously if he wants to avoid any further trouble off the court.

This is not the first time that Morant has been involved in off-court incidents this season. In March, he hosted an Instagram live from a nightclub where he showed a gun to thousands of viewers, leading to his suspension for eight games.
