“I can intentionally hurt him” Dahntay Jones admitted hurting Kobe Bryant to save his own $10 Million fortune
Kobe Bryant holds a strong position among the top all time players of the NBA. The Black Mamba had two whole decades of dominance and basketball fans adored watching him play on the court. He had a very different mindset, the kind to never back down but dominate when beaten.
The Los Angeles Lakers legend always wanted to be the best on the court. This also was a reason why the the three time championship duo with Shaquille O’Neal had also broken up. This mentality however won him five rings, 18 All-Star selections, numerous All-NBA selections and successful trips to the Olympics.
Kobe Bryant gets disrespected by former Atlanta Hawks player
Kobe Bryant was nearly impossible to stop. He was a big time scorer of the ball and always wanted to run the offense for the Lakers. He averaged as much as 35.4 points per game in 2005 and went on to conclude his career averaging 25 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. He ranked top fifth all-time in scoring.
There were very few individuals who achieved the unthinkable with Kobe Bryant. One such player was Dahntay Jones who was a problematic defender for many. The former 2016 champion once worked a defensive play that nearly injured the Mamba badly.
Jones’ foul seemed very suspicious to many. The former player explained why he had chosen to push Kobe on a shot. “I pushed him in the back, right? And our rules was like no dunks and no layups. So I thought I was doing the right thing. I swear, I thought I was doing the right thing because he beat me for the first kind of time, like when I see the back of his jersey.”
“I got two options: Take his head off because he can’t see me or push him before he even jumps, so I just push him in the back and he never gets in the air. And he felt like he disrespected, but I can’t give up layups because I lose money. I get fully disrespected in timeouts like they had me so wound up. Chauncey, Kenyan, George had me so wound up and so frustrated.”
