Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers have made it back to the NBA headlines. And, the reason is their 3rd overall draft pick which they won in the NBA Draft Lottery. The franchise plans to stick with Damian Lillard and is riding on their decision of building a championship-bound roster around him. They still believe they can get through and land an NBA Title even after a decade-long of failed efforts to even land a superstar next to Dame.
But now they are taking the efforts a level up and the fans are hating it. As reports claim: “The Blazers intend to trade their No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft to try and build a championship team around Damian Lillard.” Everyone in Portland loves Damian Lillard and will have a hard time watching him ball out donning some other jersey. But good times do come to an end and maybe it’s the time for the Portland Trail Blazers to part ways with Dame and rebuild. As fans believe he’s killing the team.
Damian Lillard throughout his career has been riding with the Blazers and now when he has a guaranteed bag, he won’t really like to force his way out. As he’s also interested in the ownership rights of the team. But deep down he wants to land a title too and that can be a big reason behind the team trading their 3rd Draft Pick. The franchise can easily trade Damian Lillard this offseason and draft a talented prospect like Scoot Henderson and others in the Draft and rebuild for a while to be great.

As there aren’t any superstars available in the market who can turn the tables around for the Damian Lillard-led Portland Trail Blazers. Damian Lillard doesn’t want to be the rude guy or a snake to leave the franchise in the hunt for a title. But hum being in the system is very expensive for the Blazers and they can end up ruining their future just because of him and his wish to be a champion.
Right now, Damian Lillard is 32 years old and on a $177 million contract. Also, when he’ll be 36, his base salary is guaranteed to be around $64 million. So spending all that money on him is just senseless without a good future.
