Damian Lillard has been ruling the NBA headlines since the last month as he demanded a trade specifically to the Miami Heat. But now his special request can get him in some real trouble. The league can take disciplinary actions against him. But all of that looks pretty sorted now as the all-star guard is back on the track and down to suit up wherever he’s traded. But with that being said, Damian Lillard’s time with the Portland Trail Blazers will soon come to an end.

Even though the front office never gave him the right pieces to get into the contention race, Dame never gave up and was always locked in to achieve success. During the last 11 years with the Blazers, Damian Lillard has recorded many great games and moments. But his biggest individual achievement happened last season on 26th February 2023 against the Houston Rockets. As clowning the Rockets’ team, Lillard recorded himself a historic career night.

Playing for 39 minutes, drilling 13 three-pointers, Damian Lillard dropped 71 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds. He made all 14 of his FTs and went 22-38 from the field. That game went straight to the record books and became one of Dame’s biggest individual achievements. Recently, Kenyon Martin Jr. who was a part of that unfortunate Rockets’ roster appeared on Paul George’s podcast, “Podcast P with Paul George,” and discussed his experience of watching Dame Time control the floor.

KJ Martin chipped in 14 points, 4 assists, and 8 rebounds in that game. But he tried his best efforts to stop Damian Lillard and none of them worked. Reflecting on that night, KJ said: “I was sick to my stomach. I am running to get rebounds.” Further, when the crew went on to compare Damian Lillard’s game against PG-13’s OKC and the Rockets. The former Rocket KJ denied all those comparisons and went on to share his pain.

The new Los Angeles Clippers forward quoted: “That’s different he had 40 at halftime against us. He could have scored 90 if he wanted to, I truly believe that…if we didn’t double-team him, he would have had 90. He was dribbling up the court, I’m running at him, trying to get the ball out of his hands, no screen nothing.” Dame that night joined a lot many elite clubs and proved his worth to the league.

Blazers’ Damian Lillard and his agent tried their best to get him shipped to the Miami Heat. But unfortunately, the Miami Heat were never able to dish out a satisfactory offer, and still, they aren’t able to impress the Portland Trail Blazers even though multiple teams are included in the deal. And, other teams now already have an idea of getting an unhappy player if they bid in to get Damian Lillard. So now he’s pretty stuck in the situation, he created.

Brian Windhorst recently discussed the situation and quoted: “As I look across the league and have conversations with executives and agents, I can’t identify another team that is seriously making an offer for Damian Lillard at this point. My belief is that the Heat can’t either.”

Damian Lillard is one of the Top 75 players in the league’s history and one of the best shooters ever. So he’ll surely be traded as there are many systems around the league that can advance with his help. But his dream destination won’t be one of those systems until they make a great offer or the Blazers decrease his trade value.
