Damian Lillard has requested a trade out of the Portland Trail Blazers after 11 seasons. He was one of the most loyal superstars in the league and finally decided to part ways with the franchise after years of drama and disappointment. What was supposed to be a happy departure as both sides are parting ways for their good is now turned into a very difficult situation. As Damian Lillard and his camp are making the situation hard for the Blazers’ front office.
When Damian Lillard requested a trade it was reported that he specifically wants to join the Miami Heat. But the Blazers who are committed to being a winning team and getting better are exploring all the possible options they can have to get the maximum trade value of Dame. So they aren’t limiting the trade talks to the Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers are also not impressed with the package the Eastern Conference Champions are and can offer.
Damian Lillard’s agent, Aaron Goodwin even tried to warn teams rather than Miami Heat from trading for Damian Lillard. As Dame would be an unhappy player in any system rather than the Eastern Conference Champions. But that didn’t really work as the GMs around believe Damian Lillard would have to honor his contract and play well and hard like he does if he’s traded elsewhere.
But now reports claim that Damian Lillard might end up not showing up to his new team if that’s not Miami Heat. A person familiar with Lillard’s thinking told Sportsnaut: “He just wouldn’t go. He just wouldn’t report. I don’t think the other team would trade for him knowing that he doesn’t want to be there. He’s a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer so they should respect his wishes.”
This report which is claimed as Damian Lillard’s thinking if his trade demand isn’t fulfilled has disappointed many fans around. They are starting to hate their franchise superstar who was loyal to them for 11 big years and is also one of the best 75 players ever in league history.

The Portland Trail Blazers are still trying to ship Damian Lillard to his preferred destination. But unfortunately, the Heat squad doesn’t have a satisfying offer on the table and Blazers are least interested in acquiring Tyler Herro and his contract. So Dame will now either be traded elsewhere or it would be a multi-team trade which will get the job done for both ends.
