Damian Lillard ROASTS Joel Embiid with one word tweet
Damian Lillard seems to have had enough of excuses from Joel Embiid as the 76ers lost Game 7 to the Celtics and were kicked out of the playoffs.

Joel Embiid, the newly crowned NBA MVP, shook up the world… with a surprisingly horrendous performance. Embiid’s performance grabbed the attention of several people, one of them being Damian “Dolla” Lillard. Lillard felt being roasted on Twitter by fans wasn’t enough for Embiid, therefore the player chimed in himself. Lillard had a hilarious one-word reply to Embiid’s statements post-game.
During the media interactions after a tragic 112-88 loss to the Celtics, Embiid sat down to talk about what went wrong. Though, it didn’t seem like Embiid was ready to accept any of the slander targeted towards his awful performance. He said some of the most confusing things while talking about his teammates. Embiid said, “I can’t win alone. We can’t win alone. Me and James, we just can’t win alone.” He then added, “That’s why basketball is played 5-on-5. We just need everybody to try and find ways to keep getting better.”
While Embiid might’ve made sense to himself with these statements, it didn’t phase anyone else. Damian Lillard was less than impressed as he took to Twitter to roast Embiid for this statement. Lillard replied “Huh?” to the tweet by CBS Sports where Embiid made the statements post-game. Lillard seemed to be reminding Embiid to take responsibility for his own actions first, before blaming others.
Though, this loss didn’t come as a surprise to many after a clinical performance by Jayson Tatum, who scored 51 points. Tatum single-handedly overpowered the entire Sixers’ squad, scoring almost as much as the Top-3 Sixers combined. The MVP wasn’t the best player in his own team and that is what the world currently focuses on.

Jayson Tatum’s performance was one for the ages as he proved his mettle yet again. Tatum, who was a part of the MVP conversation at one point in time made it a goal to prove why he was better than the MVP Embiid. Tatum scored 51 points, went 17-28 FGs, and added 13 rebounds, and five assists. While on the other hand, Embiid scored 15 points, one assist, and eight rebounds in the 38 minutes that he was on the court.
Jaylen Brown increased pressure for the 76ers as he added 25 points, two assists, and six rebounds of his own. On the other hand, Tobias Harris was the lead scorer for the 76ers with 19 points, followed by Tyrese Maxey with 17 points. James Harden, the star of Game 1 scored nine points in total, in the 41 minutes that he was on the court.
The game was nothing short of tragic for the 76ers, and the blame was to be equally shared by the team. Therefore, it was valid for Lillard to chime in and remind the MVP that it was his responsibility to lead the team. Instead, Embiid seems to have no realization of “what went wrong” while the rest of the world cries incompetency.
