Following an early exit from the 2022 NBA Season, the Los Angeles Lakers put Darvin Ham in the Head coach position. His first NBA head-coaching job includes the prestige and pleasure of coaching the 17-time champion Los Angeles Lakers, who are always dreaming of a title.

But the Lakers’ star-studded roster includes arguably the most iconic modern-day megastar LeBron James, injury-riddled star Anthony Davis, and struggling star Russell Westbrook. The team is strong on paper but has shown inconsistency in their performances on court.

But Darvin Ham is confident about his team and praises each and every individual for their personalities and abilities on the floor. LeBron James had proved himself more useful, despite being on the wrong side of his 30s while the other two superstars have not been very effective for the Franchise.

There are not a lot of first-year NBA head coaches who have dealt with this level of pressure. But former NBA Champion Darvin Ham seems unfazed by the pressure situation. He was part of the championship on both occasions as a player and as a coach. So he knows the winning formula as a player and getting the best out of players as a coach.

While talking about the Lakers’ chances and the impact of Anthony Davis, Ham said, “With AD, I would say he’s the biggest factor. I’m looking forward to him having a huge year this year. I know the way we’re going to play is going to benefit him. The way I’m going to take care of him, make sure we take care of him, it’s going to benefit him.“

Praising Davis’ abilities and physical attributes he added, “That size, that skill set, that approach. What you saw in the bubble, we’re bringing that back. And again, we got to make sure we take care of him, meet all of his needs physically and make sure he’s in a good space mentally, spiritually, but he’s the factor. This s— ain’t going to work without AD being right.”

Healthy and energetic Anthony Davis has been very crucial for his franchises. During his Pelicans seasons, AD remained the focal point at the offensive and defensive end. While playing for the Lakers, Davis had the support of generational mega Star LeBron James, delivering a championship in the very 1st season with the Lakers.

Kentucky-star has been a defensive juggernaut for his team, but at LA his production at the offensive end also looked sharp. He averages 23 points per game over his 10-year career, but for the Lakers, he produces around 25 points on a nightly basis while his 1st ever NBA finals appearance shows even greater production on the offensive end.

After the Championship run in 20208-time All-Star played in just 76 regular season games for the Lakers. It was due to a series of injuries he had in the last 2 seasons. He sill averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists per game in those games.

LeBron James has been a star player on every franchise he played for, but with Anthony Davis in the mix, and his age; LBJ might be happy to give more limelight to a rising mega star. Darvin Ham is also correct on his part, as AD can turn games around for his team, with a strong game around the rim or from the range too.
