De’Aaron Fox, the Sacramento Kings superstar is generally known for his highlight-reel dunks. However, one particular play against the league-worst Detroit Pistons got people talking on social media.

With a couple of minutes left in the first half, the Pistons try a lob pass which is tipped by Kings star Domantas Sabonis. The ball ended up in Kevin Huerter’s hands who then sent a full-court pass to a streaking De’Aaron Fox. Fox went up for the dunk, only for the ball to slip out of his hands and up in the air.

The sight of Fox blowing what could have been one of the easiest dunks in his career even left the commentators chuckling. Fox only had Pistons player Killian Hayes trailing him who was at least a yard and a half behind. Even without any opposition, Fox missed the wide-open dunk.

The miss did not stop the Kings from winning the game 131-110. Fox put up 26 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists to help the Kings. There was no dunk from Fox in the rest of the game to redeem himself.

De’Aaron Fox’s gaff causes fans to lose it on social media

Basketball fans are a passionate lot. When they see great things happening on the court, they applaud. But when they see something hilariously comical, they will let their humor spill out on social media. This play in particular had fans in splits.
