“That s**t is real” – De’Aaron Fox is STUNNED after guarding ‘playoff Steph Curry’ during Game 1 vs Warriors
De'Aaron Fox claims that the Stephen Curry playoff experience is real after guarding him in the Kings win last night

De’Aaron Fox played the first playoff game of his career against Stephen Curry last night and was exhausted after guarding him all game. The Sacramento Kings played the Golden State Warriors in their first playoff match in over a decade and pulled off a close 126-123 victory. De’Aaron Fox scored 38 points and led the way while guarding Stephen Curry, who got 30 points of his own.
Fox referenced a video where JR Smith talks about how Matthew Dellavedova struggled to guard Steph and said, “Y’all see that clip of J.R. Smith talking about Delly. That sh*t is real.”
Stephen Curry started his 2023 playoff run with a great game shooting over 50% from the field and over 40% from three; however, the game ended in a Warriors’ loss. Fox did play 40 minutes, but he did not guard Curry the whole game but had a lot of praise for the shooter.
“I didn’t guard Steph for the entire game but most of the first quarter and most of the fourth quarter…Just trying to be as disruptive as possible while guarding if not the best player in the world, the best player to ever shoot a basketball,” said Fox on his mindset while guarding Curry.
Despite all the praises, Curry would still be bummed out about missing his attempt at the game-tying three.
De’Aaron Fox’s clutch fourth-quarter performance sealed the win for the Sacramento Kings
The Golden State Warriors have won their first game of the playoffs every year since 2013 until last night. The Sacramento Kings created history, and De’Aaron Fox was a huge part of it. Fox scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to take the game away from the Golden State Warriors. Despite Steph Curry and Klay Thompson combining for 11 threes, the Kings had enough offensive firepower to beat them.
Malik Monk also turned up clutch for the Kings scoring 32 points and making 14/14 free throws tying the NBA record for most makes without a miss on playoff debut. The Warriors went 16/50 from three-point range in a scruffy performance from the defending champions. The Kings also had 17 offensive rebounds to the Warriors’ nine, which Steve Kerr stated was the point of difference in their loss.
The Warriors had a historically terrible home record in the regular season, and it looks like that is slipping into the post-season. Golden State will be back in Sacramento for game 2 on 17th April, hoping to steal home-court advantage. The Warriors stunningly had the third-best home record in the NBA, making every home game much more important in this series.
