Dejounte Murray is back in the NBA headlines, and the reason this time is him accusing the league of cheating. That’s really a big move by the guard and can eventually land him in trouble again. He has already received a suspension for his behavior against a ref during Game 4 of the first-round playoffs series between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics. And that’s exactly why he’s accusing NBA of cheating, as he was suspended from Game 5.

During Game 4 on Sunday, Dejounte Murray dropped 23 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in the loss against the Celtics at 121-129. This had Celtics leading the series at 3-1, and only one win away from pulling down the curtains on the Hawks’ season. Dejounte Murray wasn’t riding with the officiating done in Game 4, and so on his way back to the locker room after the loss, he let the official, Gediminas Petraitis, know about it.

YouTube video

A viral video showing Dejounte Murray bumping into the ref and then saying something to him took over the web. This had fans demanding action against the guard. And the league responded by suspending him for Game 5 of the series because of “making inappropriate contact with and verbally abusing” the official.

It seemed Celtics had an easy road to the semifinals. But Trae Young had different plans, and manhandling the Celtics in the final quarter got the job done and forced a Game 6. After the dub, Dejounte Murray posted a video on his Instagram story and accused the league of cheating while mentioning his belief in God.

In the video, Dejounte Murray is saying, “God is real. The devil is a lie. Tried to cheat, suspend me. We back to the A.” Murray also had a caption for the video where he wrote, “BACK TO THE MF A!!!! God Know Ima Great Person And Them Fake A** Narratives DONT Hold Weight!!!”

Further, Dejounte Murray also wrote, “Tried To Play With My Character And Send Me Home The Wrong Way. God Know My Body And The One’s Around. Me Or Even The One’s Who Met Me Know I Stand On Real Principals And One Of The Greatest You’ll Ever Come Across And I Don’t Cheat The Game!!!!!”

The video by Murray portrays him strongly believing that he was suspended so that the Celtics could have an easy road. He will feel that justice has been served, as the Hawks, led by Trae Young, forced a Game 6 and brought the business back to Atlanta, where Dejounte Murray would be back and try to ball out.

Recently, the Boston Celtics hosted the Atlanta Hawks at TD Garden for Game 5 of the first-round playoffs series between them. The game was closely contested and head-to-head except for the final minutes, where Trae Young owned them and got the job done. The Celtics were the favorite to win the game, but Trae Young had different plans as he balled out. The Jayson Tatum-led squad was left speechless, spectating his offensive rally in the final minutes.

Without Dejounte Murray, the Hawks were initially struggling in the game. But soon, Young taking matters into his hand, won it all. He gets all the credits for the dub. Hawks were down by one point with 1.8 seconds remaining, so he went on to drill a game-winning three-pointer from near the logo (on Jaylen Brown’s head). Furthermore, he single-handedly chipped in the last 14 points for his team and showed off his ability in the clutch and win it all at 119-117.

Trae Young dropped 38 points in the game, dished out 13 assists, and got four boards. At the same time, Jayson Tatum was limited to only 19 points, eight assists, and eight rebounds on a poor shooting night. Jaylen Brown did his job and contributed with 35 points, five assists, and seven rebounds. But none of that matters, as the Hawks got the dub and are still alive in the playoffs.

Dejounte Murray and Trae Young would have to step up big in Game 6 against the Celtics and extend the series. Or else the Celtics, who’d be out for revenge, will draw the curtains on their season. They’ll have to level up their game on the defensive end, as Jayson Tatum isn’t someone who will have two straight poor shooting nights.
