West was traded to the Boston Celtics after his stint with the Cavs. According to some reports, Lebron James orchestrated the trade because he wanted to get West out of the Cavaliers. Before choosing to leave, he featured in another season with the Dallas Mavericks.
In January 2020, the 38-year-old West was discovered handcuffed and naked on the side of the road. In order to start a “uphill struggle,” Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban assisted him in entering a rehab facility in October 2020. He seemed to be improving, but he was allegedly detained in October following a drunken run-in with the police. He looks to be utilizing basketball as a motivating factor to attempt to get back on track despite his difficulties.
Following a recent interaction with a young fan in Virginia, Delonte West is back on the streets and making headlines. The situation may be found innocent as West talked about his past and encouraged the youngster and his family.
