The Minnesota Timberwolves were top of the Western Conference in the morning. They were set to play a Chicago Bulls team that just lost one of their superstars for the season. Add to that, they are 9th in the Eastern Conference and have not won against any playoff team since the turn of the new year.

All of this seemed to point toward an easy victory for the Timberwolves. But that did not happen. The Bulls got a sensational overtime victory but could have finished the job at the end of regulation. The ball was in the hands of one of the most clutch scorers in the league DeMar DeRozan. The shot, however, didn’t go in.

With 2 seconds left in regulation, DeRozan receives the inbound pass. He faked to his right to send Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards off the defensive position. DeRozan then dribbled to his left and jumped to launch the game-winning shot. Except, it wasn’t the game-winning shot, as the ball did not even hit the ring. It bounced off the backboard as time expired. This caused basketball fans to question whether DeRozan is actually clutch.

Mind you, DeMar DeRozan’s clutch game winners are available aplenty on the internet. Most of those shots were tougher than what he had today. Some were turn-around jumpers with two defenders with their hands in his face at the three-point line. Today’s shot was against the smaller Edwards, and there was more space than he ever had during some of his clutch shots.

DeRozan redeemed himself by starting overtime with 6 straight points. However, he had to thank his younger teammate Coby White for at least getting the Bulls to the point where he could help them win. White scored 30 of his 33 points in the second half to spark a 23-point comeback. The Bulls ended up winning the game 129-123.
