The Detroit Pistons are officially a part of NBA infamy. Tonight, they had a chance to redeem themselves against the league’s best team. At one point in the game, it seemed like the impossible was about to happen. But, it wasn’t to be.

The Boston Celtics entered the game against the Pistons as the best team in the league with a 22-6 record. The Pistons were a league-worst with 2-27. Hence, an apparent David vs Goliath match was evident. What fans of basketball could not wrap their heads around was the halftime score. The Pistons led by as much as 21 points at the end of the first half. The Celtics came back and both were tied at the end of regulation. In overtime, Boston dominated and handed the Pistons their 28th straight loss.

The Detroit Pistons set the NBA record for most consecutive losses in a season on Tuesday night against the Brooklyn Nets. Detroit went down 112-118 for their 27th loss in a row.
