“I didn’t see a single second of it” – Devin Booker’s 52-point show out gets shadowed by women’s basketball leaving fans in splits
The women's college basketball superstars competed to qualify for the Final Four on Monday.
Devin Booker scored 52 points against the Pelicans
The NBA week started on a strong note as the Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker scored a record-breaking performance. However, it was almost overlooked by basketball fans as they were busy enjoying the two incredible ‘Elite Eight’ matchups in NCAA women’s basketball.
The Phoenix Suns defeated the seed above them with Devin Booker‘s amazing 52-point performance. The guard was an offensive force as he started the game strong by scoring 37 points in the first half. However, most basketball fans had all their eyes on Caitlin Clark exacting revenge against Angel Reese’s LSU Tigers. Many NBA enthusiasts caught themselves ignoring NBA games for ‘Elite Eight’.
The Suns managed to keep the lead and got a 124-111 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The team is now only one win away from getting the sixth spot in the Western Conference and avoiding the risk of the play-in tournament. NCAA on the other hand had Reese and Clark showing out for their teams. Followed by Paige Bueckers and JuJu Watkins going toe-to-toe.
Booker’s performance was the star’s third 50+ point performance against the Pelicans. The guard has now joined the special company of NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain for having three consecutive 50+ point performances against the same team. The team will face the Pelicans one more time next week, creating an opportunity for Booker to break the record.
