“Seen few white shorts with their backside getting dirty” Devin Booker admits to catching players with poop on their shorts during games
Devin Booker
Devin Booker is one of those modern-day players who have perfected the art of leading a team on their back since an early age. Given that the Phoenix Suns guard has a lot of potential to make a name for himself against the greatest player, he even admitted to catch ‘few accidents’ which signify the toll that sport of basketball takes on any player.
Given that the fast-paced game in the NBA demands any player to overcome physical hurdles – such as, physical and mental throughout the course of 48 minutes, it is the biological aspects which are put to thorough test too. Safe to say as per Booker, sometimes, more often than not, these can lead to a few badly timed bowel movements.
Devin Booker details how the NBA demands much more off a player than one can imagine
One has to understand that at the end of the day, these gigantic athletes are also human who are putting their body rigorously to test day-in and day-out. One of the most infamous ‘injury’ breaks in the league was back in 2008. During the 2008 NBA finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics had to take an ‘injury’ break. 11 years later, Pierce admitted that he took the break to attend nature’s call. Pierce truthfully said, “I have a confession to make- I just had to go to the bathroom. Something went down and I had to go to the bathroom.”
On the same note, Booker added, “I’ve seen a couple white shorts where you see someone had a little accident on the back. Just ask any equipment manager.”
Another NBA veteran, Lance Thomas also added his observations on this topic, “That’s definitely a thing. Usually, when someone’s at the free-throw line you notice it. Especially if they’re wearing white.”
While NBA does seem a league which carries on for 8-9 months continuously, professional players have been expected to deliver their best. This only goes onto showcase the extent to which their lives can get miserable.
