The Phoenix Suns gained strength when Kevin Durant joined less than a year ago. However, they are not performing as anticipated. Frustrations have started to boil over the Suns. On Monday, the Phoenix Suns suffered their ninth loss in the previous twelve games when they played the Dallas Mavericks at home (114–128). At Footprint Centre, Luka Doncic once again outclassed Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns.
The star player for the Dallas Mavericks, Luka Doncic, led his team to a 128-114 victory with 50 points, six rebounds, and 15 assists. They questioned Booker about the reasons for the difficult loss at home during the press conference held after the game. One of the biggest rivalries in the NBA is between Devin Booker and Doncic, and it was undoubtedly the latter who came out on top.

They asked Booker about this after the game if things were worsening for the Suns. This is what Devin Booker replied:
Poor game plan discipline, when we do what we're supposed to do out there it works. And then the game goes on, we just lose focus.Devin Booker after losing to Dallas Mavericks
Booker’s remarks seem well-founded, given that the Phoenix team dropped below the 500 mark. He also had an on-court scuffle with Grant Williams. Phoenix’s current state is highly alarming. The Suns had won seven straight games before their November 29th loss to the Toronto Raptors. They are 3–8 since that game, though. After the Mavs game, their record fell to 14–15, and they are currently ranked 11th in the Western Conference. The Suns wouldn’t make the playoffs if the season finished today.
Devin Booker shouted at Chimezie Metu for not getting back on defense
The Phoenix Suns came into a huge Christmas Day matchup against the Dallas Mavericks with a 3-7 record in their previous ten games. But the Suns’ struggles against the Dallas Mavericks don’t seem to have improved. Frustrated, Devin Booker even tried to discipline Nigerian forward Chimezie Metu in the third quarter.

Devin Booker said to Chimezie Metu:
Why aren't you running back? You turn the ball over and don't turn back.
Luka Doncic made an easy layup after Metu committed a turnover, increasing the Mavs’ lead to 13 points at the beginning of the third quarter. Despite the struggles of the Suns, Booker and Durant have played well. Devin Booker has averaged 27.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 5.4 rebounds this season.
Conversely, KD is playing at an All-NBA level and scoring even more at 30.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists, which are the averages for the 2014 MVP. In addition, he is shooting 46.9% from beyond the arc, which is a career-best percentage. Beyond the pair’s skill at scoring, though, things are dire.
