Devin Booker is one of the only players that a team could rely on when it is important to win. Drafted out of the University of Kentucky in 2015, the young guard had already established himself as an elite-level scorer and very consistent from the field in terms of shooting. Booker soon proves to himself to the entire world that he is worthy of being called a future Hall of Famer.
The Phoenix Suns drafted the player with the intention of rising to playoff status but the team still required refurbishing. After many disappointing seasons, the Suns acquired Monty Williams during the 2019-2020 season and helped the team through the bubble where they went undefeated. He recently won Coach of the Year for leading Phoenix to a franchise record of 64 wins. The addition of Chris Paul and a few other key players increased the chances of their overall success.

Devin Booker had one of his best seasons with his team so far averaging 26.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. He was also an integral part of last year’s title run against the Milwaukee Bucks and helped them into the playoff this season as well. Booker had a slight setback during the first round of the post-season after going down with a hamstring injury but he quickly bounced back onto the court to help close out the series.
He is currently averaging 25.8 points against the Dallas Mavericks this series and helped them win two early games as well. He recorded his season playoff-high during Game 4 finishing with 35 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists shooting 10 of 22 from the field. During the game, Booker was fouled hard by Dorian Finney-Smith and hilarious reacted after hitting the floor. He made an imitation of Luka Doncic after getting fouled and also said “The Luka Special.”
Phoenix Suns vs Dallas Mavericks Game 5 Recap
Unlike the last two matchups, Phoenix was able to keep the Mavs’ scoring a bare minimum from the second through the fourth quarter. They recorded 10 steals and 2 blocks during the game while turning over the ball 12 times in total. The Suns had better shooting in this match averaging 49.4% from the field, 37.5% from the three-point arc, and 75% from the free-throw line.
Devin Booker led the team once again finishing with 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists shooting 11 of 20 from the field. Deandre Ayton backed it up scoring 20 points. The player has improved a lot in balancing out his scoring and contributions on defense. Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges recorded a combined total of 28 points.
