“I have never been a part of such a game” Devin Booker sounds off on refs after insane free throw disparity against Heat
Devin Booker
Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker was quite upset and frustrated when his team recently lost a close encounter against the Miami Heat. He was also unhappy with the officiating inside the court, as his team was given minimum free throws in a nail-biting contest. Frustration was at its peak as this loss ensured that that Monty Williams’ unit withstood fifth loss of the season.
After the game ended, Devin Booker was asked about the free-throw disparity; he said, “I have no comment on this situation. I have never been a part of such a game. Halftime. I had one free throw, and it was because of a defensive 8-second violation.” He added, “We just gotta keep playing until we get respect, I don’t know what we can do. Just keep playing basketball.” Booker was clearly at a loss for words. When he was asked about the Suns already earning the respect of the officials, he threw back the question to the reporter, saying, “I don’t know, you tell me. We have to figure out something else. Rewatch and just gotta be better. That’s all I got.”
It was a very closely contested match, as the Heat won 113-112. Jimmy Butler made a sensational block on Devin Booker at buzzer, which did not allow him to score as the Heat won by 1 point. The Heat were awarded 25 free throws in the game, while the Suns only got 4, which was termed as a massive disparity. Devin Booker was evidently frustrated and angry about it and expressed his frustration with the game night’s officiating.
Devin Booker’s Suns to take on Chef Curry’s Warriors in the next game
After a devastating loss to the Miami Heat, the Warriors’ challenge awaits the Phoenix Suns. Apparently, the Suns are averaging 113.2 points, while the Warriors are averaging 113.5 points. Chris Paul has showed quite the form in his recent few games and would be looking to make a mark against a sturdy Warriors team.
This is a re-matchup this NBA season, as the Suns won the last time these two met 134-105. Devin Booker was the star as he scored 34 points to help lead the Suns to victory.
That being said, Stephen Curry has lit up the NBA with his fiery performances, averaging 32.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. Furthermore, the 3-Point King currently ranks second in the NBA, following a stupendous average. It will be interesting to see which team will prevail on the top this time, as the Suns are known to cause a stir on their defensive end.
