Dillon Brooks recently opened up about his tenure with his former team the Memphis Grizzlies before he joined the Houston Rockets in this year’s NBA offseason. In the interview, Brooks showed his unhappiness with how things ended with the Grizzlies and how he was made the scapegoat in the entire situation.
Brooks, during his time with the Memphis Grizzlies, was always seen as a good option on the secondary offense and was bold with his intent on the basketball court, Brooks also made himself with a sense of familiarity with the fanbase of the Grizzlies, especially at the time of their loss against the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of playoffs in the 2022 NBA season.

Brooks, in his interview with SI, shared his opinion, saying,
The whole season was not what I wanted. I feel like we did better when I was a focal point in that organization. They chose a different route. But I’m happy that through all the bullsh*t I was able to get what I always deserved.
Brooks also made himself familiar with the fanbase of Memphis and across the basketball community with his back-and-forth with the NBA legend LeBron James during the NBA playoffs last year. Brooks, in his rivalry with LeBron James, was also ejected off the floor because of a foul.
Dillon Brooks doesn’t mind being the villain as his focus is on winning
The Grizzlies fame man Dillon Brooks got traded to the Houston Rockets in the current year’s NBA offseason. However, with the Rockets’ trade, Brooks is looking to go for starting fresh with the team.
Brooks played with the Grizzlies for the first six seasons of his career since his draft in the league. He is known for his impressive defensive skills, and according to NBA experts and critics, Brooks can be the one to alter the game for the Rockets and can turn into a game-changer for them on both ends.

Brooks, who is known for picking fights with the league’s best, is still comfortable being the same with the same competitiveness. He is alright being the villain in the league and his whole focus is to win and give a tough game against the best there are in the league.
Everyone wants to hate on something. We didn’t have our whole squad, and they did. People forgot about that. Just threw it on me. Everyone can’t be the hero. I’d rather be what was chosen for me.
Since his trade to the Houston Rockets, Brooks has been one of the key defensive players on the team’s roster. Even though they lost the first three games of the ongoing NBA regular season, the team compensated for their loss by getting twice the number of wins in their bag and now are placed in the fourth position in the Western Conference.
