Reports have surfaced that Brooks could potentially form an alliance with his foe LeBron James and Brooks plans to meet with the Lakers shortly as the Grizzles have made it clear that they will not using Dillon’s service following a distasteful loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in the Playoffs.

Dillon Brooks is fresh off averaging 14.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 345 regular season games, an impressive outing for a player raking in $11 million per season but rather than his offensive skills Brooks’ value lies in his defensive prowess as the Memphis Small Forward made the All-NBA defensive team this year.

Several teams have inquired about Brooks this summer with the Houston Rockets, Bucks, Mavericks and the Toronto Raptors being in play to sign the defensive powerhouse. The Rockets have the upper hand to sign Brooks as they can offer him the highest contract, but he is more likely to join contenders as the forward looks to remain in the competitive bracket.

Teams like the Dallas and the Bucks are more of a wildcard, and they do not have the flexibility to sign Brooks to a higher contract, but Raptors are sneaking into the race as Brooks was born in Canada and a reunion with his home country cannot be ruled out.
