Many supporters began insulting Wright as he was repeatedly crossed over, posterized, and humiliated by the four-time NBA champion. When fans began mocking Dion Wright on social media, he had a lot to say in his defence. He jumped right after the game against LeBron James to remark that, despite the King putting on a show, his squad put up a good fight. Wright also mentioned that his opponents had two NBA stars, LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan, whereas his squad had none. He tweeted:
