The Milwaukee Bucks 2023-24 season has been full of inconsistencies. The team started the season on a high note but things started to become turbulent as they replaced their head coach. The Bucks’ decision to replace Adrian Griffin with Doc Rivers did not work in the team’s favor as they started to lose more games.

Fans were especially upset with the coach’s attitude about the team’s losses. The HC on multiple occasions blamed the defeats on anyone but himself. But now Doc Rivers has finally admitted to his mistakes and took the blame for the Bucks’ recent run. Bucks reporter Eric Nehm revealed the same on X. 

The last three were against three bad teams. To me, that's inexcusable. For all of us. As I told them, this is on me. I gotta figure out what we gotta do to play at a higher pace.
Doc Rivers said

The Bucks’ recent run could be risky as the playoffs are around the corner. The team has lost four of their last five games in which three of the teams have worse records than the Bucks. The second-seeded Milwaukee Bucks lost to the teams that are out of the fight for the playoffs which seems to have raised concerns for Rivers.

The reason behind the Bucks’ losses could be their star players’ injuries, as Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo are not fully fit. However, with the playoffs approaching, the team needs to find a way to win without the star players to stay in the competition.

Gilbert Arenas took a jibe at Doc Rivers after Bucks’ consecutive losses

Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas on multiple occasions has expressed his feelings about the Bucks HC. Arenas has had a problem with Rivers even before the coach was hired by the Bucks. But now, his below-the-par coaching has sent the former player over the edge.

After the Bucks’ consecutive losses, Arenas hilariously took a jibe at Rivers. On the star’s Gil’s Arena podcast, he did a hysteric impression of Rivers portraying him as ‘asleep’ on his job. 

I was Doc Rivers, baby. I was sleeping on the job. Just collecting his check, 'cause ain’t no damn way he’s coaching, I can tell you that for sure.
Gilbert Arenas said

Arenas laughed at Rivers stating that the coach should ‘take notes’ on himself and not on his team. The star judged Rivers’ methods and believed that the coach should not have agreed to take the job. According to Arenas, the HC should take responsibility for the Bucks’ losses. Now, it seems like Rivers has answered Arenas’ wishes.
