Donte DiVincenzo won’t be donning a Golden State Warriors jersey once the next season begins. He has declined his player option worth $4,725,000 with the Dubs for the 2023-24 season. Donte DiVincenzo signed with the Warriors last summer. After having decent runs with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Sacramento Kings many believed he found his home in the Bay Area.
But unfortunately, that’s not the case as Donte DiVincenzo has been better than expected and now is in search of a well-deserved bag. But unfortunately, the Golden State Warriors are in no position to give him the contract he wants. So they’ll have to part ways just after a season. During the 2022-23 season, Donte DiVincenzo suited up for 72 games for the Warriors.
The young talented guard was undoubtedly one of their most reliable and trustworthy options. Donte DiVincenzo was also fitting well in the Dubs system, especially on the offensive end. He averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals while playing for an average time of 26 minutes.
Reporting on his unfortunate but expected exit from the Warriors and his future in the league. Michael Scotto said: “Donte DiVincenzo won’t return to the Golden State Warriors, I’m told. He’s earned a pay raise. He may double what he could’ve gotten from Golden State. The Knicks are one of a handful of teams interested. When it comes to DiVincenzo, he’s competing in this market for similar money from mid-level exception teams with Bruce Brown and maybe Max Strus.”

NBA Twitter reacts to Donte DiVincenzo leaving the Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors now are in some real trouble. Finding a replacement for Donte DiVincenzo this offseason isn’t going to be easy. Also, they don’t have the funds to do so.
Many fans on Twitter are hyped for his future while some from the Dub Nation believe it’s not a big loss as Donte DiVincenzo didn’t ball out in the playoffs. Some even sound happy with him leaving the Dubs. Anyways the trolls are out and you can find some of the many reactions posted by fans on Twitter here below:
The New York Knicks are a front-runner to acquire Donte DiVincenzo. Even the guard would be happy to ball on the east coast and reunite with his former teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Reports claim him to be seeking a contract that lands him $9-$12 million a year. The Dubs now would be missing his three-and-D skills and will have to try acquiring someone with the same impact to fill in the space.
