With the winter season around the corner, American rapper Drake was in the stadium when the Toronto Raptors played the Brooklyn Nets. He was wearing his giant luxurious fur coat, comfortably seated, watching the game. NBA analyst Jack Armstrong decided to wear Drake’s coat as the game was going on.
Drake instantly gave out his coat and everyone who saw it on live TV started laughing, seeing Jack wear the white furry jacket. Drake even quoted, “It’s a meme… listens to ‘Her Loss’ once.” Drake was sitting with others in the commentary box while Jack proudly showed off the coat sitting in line with him. One of the commentators present in the box stated, “Jack is like Jimmy Cooks. He is crushing it now.”
They all were joking and laughing, seeing Jack turn into a ‘teddy bear’ and that it was ‘changing’ Jack altogether. He sat with the coat on for the first half of the game. As and when the cameras turned towards him or when he was showcased behind the Raptors or the Nets players, he became a laughing stock. But anyone would agree that Jack Armstrong was pulling it off well and let’s hope that Drake allows him to have it. Fans couldn’t control their reactions as soon as the video went viral. Who is Jack Armstrong?
John Joseph ‘Jack’ Armstrong is an American sportscaster who works primarily for the Toronto Raptors on TSN and NBA TV Canada. Armstrong was also the college basketball analyst for TSN and a former college basketball coach at Niagara University. He has been a part of the broadcast team since 1998. Armstrong has two popular catchphrases during game broadcasts: ‘ Helloooo’ and ‘Get that garbage outta here.’
The ‘garbage’ phrase became so popular that Armstrong also used it in commercials for the City of Toronto government to encourage keeping garbage out of recycling materials. Armstrong is a 3-time winner of the Canadian Screen Award for Best Sports Analyst in a sports program or series. In 2008, Jack Armstrong also took over ‘The Chuck Swirsky Show,’ alongside Doug MacLean on the Toronto, Ontario, AM sports talk radio station, ‘The Fan 590.’
The show’s name was later changed to ‘The Game Plan.’ Later, Doug MacLean left the show and was replaced by Eric Smith. Since then, they have headed the show and done a pretty good job carrying forward the channel’s TRPs.
